THere were probably other things I wanted to say, but there was the most beautiful man ever seen at ECA today!!!
Must have been a graduate b.c teachers new him. When we were all allowed to go up and Salsa at elective sharing he was there and it was like in West Side Story where the crowd parts and there is only him. Jesus he was so good looking.
The Greeks would have made a sculpture of him
This girl was randomly sitting at like 4:30 on the steps of Arts Halls b.c we were the only two left to get picked up and her friend came walking by and she was talking about him so I was like "I'm sorry! But the guy in the gray shirt?" and then we talked about how amazingly good looking he was and how no one knew who he was.
I'm in love.
The end.

So, Question: If someone arranged/composed a piece of music for an ensemble, is the composer/arranger responsible to make sure that the musicians are practicing at home ESPECIALLY when the group has a conductor?
NO! I think not!! Ischvan did this whole thing on my report card how I need to make sure my piece gets performed this semester unlike last year. (fucking asshole) Now, I printed him out parts 3 weeks ago for Mi Morena, and I have been giving him revisions that he wanted since but they have had ample time to work on it (they have emnsemble twice a week) and yet he tell me yesterday that they may not perform it b.c they don't know it. THAT IS NOT MY FAULT! I cannpt be held accountable or get a bad grade b.c people aren't learning their parts or because he isn't playing it in their rehearsal times. He says I never gave the singer a recording of it so he could learn it. One, he told me to upload it online so everyone could go download it which I did and gave everyone the link. Two, I gave the singer the sheet music. Three, IT IS NOT THE COMPOSERS RESPONISIBILITY TO SEE THAT THE MUSICIANS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! That is your job Mr. Boss
Besides, as a conductor, I would never dream of imposing on a composer to go out of their way to get me a recording. You have limewire, DO IT YOURSELF! Besides, read the fucking music! It's repetitive and NOT THAT DIFFICULT!! I would never dream of going into something not knowing what the hell I was doing. Edit I didnt mean to sound really mad at the kid doing it. He's a nice talented kid, but if he had personally asked me something about the music or about a recording I would have done it. Its the conductor, thinking b.c I am his student and apparently has apparently nothing else to do, that he can make me go out of my way to do things outside of writing the music or tweaking it for him. I wrote the music, that is my grade, that is my job; not to go and do things that are his job or for his ensemble to do. Judy would never go to Fenno Heath and blame him if I didn't practice. YOU DON'T DO THAT! If I was conducting it or involved in the performance at all, maybe. BUT I'M NOT!
Secondly, Mr. Teacher, it is YOUR JOB to allot time to rehearse. I can't be in your rehearsals so its not my fault if you don't make anytime. I was rehearsing with the tenors for Agnus Dei in the small practice room and their ensemble was across the hall and they never once touched my song. If he is going to complain about not having any practice in then it's not my fault!!!!!!!!!
he wanted me to sing it b.c he didn't think the guy could sing and play bass at the same time. He is very able, I think he can. So I said I would much rather have the singing without the bass but teacher was all like "No, we need the bass" So he wanted me to sing it. And I was like uhh.... b.c I want to hear my song, not sing it! I wrote it for male vocalist, not female!!!!!
GAHHHH!!!g kjgfjdfdafdfd
I promise a happy update later, but I'm fuming! I worked so fucking hard on this arrangement!! 3+ minutes worth, 10 instruments and 3 months of my life!!! For him to tell me they can't do it because he never made them play it and then blaming it on me and bringing my grade down for his mistakes? It's not fair, it's not right, and he will hear from me tomorrow!

Ah saw Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy yesterday with Chris T! It was SO FREAKING HILARIOUS! I was in a constant state of laughter!! Mos Def was great as Ford Prefect (loved the Vogon Poetry Torture scene) and "I think I'm a sofa" The first hour was completely to the books and the changes were genuine and didn't detract.
Because

ugh. People need to stop blowing stupid little comments out of proportion.
( mini rant--> )
I feel much better now.
SO ANYWAY, Yesterday was Ellington's surprise bday dinner. Although Brett told her (CURSES!!) she didn't expect that many people there. EVEN CHRIS T CAME!! we waited for an hour for our table, then about 14 of us shumshed into a booth. Ouch. I need to plan surprise dinners more often b.c people called me, a lot. hahaha! Then I accidently called the wrong Tom, yelled at him, and felt like an ass. We ate, we saw, we were loud and conquered. In attendence: Ellington (durh but she was way late ;D), Caitie, Christina, Soloman, Jon, Allison, Stasia, Tom, Mike, Zach, Brian and Brett. Who are Ellington's best friends? STASIA and JULI!
We gave her THE BEST PRESENTS EVER!! A MacGyver kit with:
+shoelace
+Duct tape
+Panty hose
+Stick of gum
+paper clips
+ligher
+rubber band
+pocket knife
+rope (the people in movies always need rope!)
+Fireworks
+And Guns and Weapons magazine (tho MacGyver never used weapons, but it was for effect)
Then we also gave her Rocky Horror Picture Show and the book He's Just Not Into You hehehe!
Ohyeah, we rock.
;D
P.S- new sheppard background! hehe!

Guess who is 80% going to work on the set of a music video?
Oh that's right, ME!!
Pat told us he would let us come to his recording studio when they have an artist in there and we could learn more about mixing and he would let us use pro-tools (since we don't have it at ECA boo) So I was uploading the tracks from a song they recorded into DP and then it had to be converted from 41000 hz to 48000hz and that ended up taking longer than class so I was talking with him and this hip hop artist he records is doing his music video here in Hamden (he said for BET hehe) and I was like "Ah! Is there anyway I could come and help you?" and he said yes, I jsut wouldn't get paid. But I'm really interested in the Tech aspect of acting and music. Though I would love more than life to perform, there is more work and money in tech and I'm pretty good at it. But isn't that cool? I think with further learning I could become very good at it.
Did I mention how much I hate Istchavan or whatever the hell his name is? Hate. Him. He talks about me talking initiative... he should spend time with me instead of the boys, and then maybe I would know what the hell to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wrote in his general description: "this way I can focus on individual students' needs- as a result, they will gain individual attention." yeah right!!! I do my work and he only comes to talk to me when he needs me to do something for him. Fuck that. I hope I get a teacher who can teach and not just complain about "the man" for 20 minutes.

Went over Mike's tonight. Was going to go. Then wasn't. Then was. Christina, Tom, and Brian were also in attendence. Watched Pootie Tang, and had random music on and "played" cards. Pickpocketed Tom. Talked like aliens with Christina. Good times. It's 12:45 am and my mother is still not home. Successful sneaking outage. Damn that dirty whore.

So the weather is gorgeous here. I think I may go out and explore a tiny bit in a bit. Sarah is at Chem. lab and we never got a hold of the girl I was to go to class with so I'm just chilling here, listening to Wicked and about to watch some Stargate that I downloaded (damn Emily and her Baam! ;D) I'm getting up the courage to go outside because I'm afraid to get lost! lol!!
I finished my book The Prisoner of the Iron Tower which was really good! I read 300 pages yesterday! Jeeze! Now I have to read the Great Gatsby which perhaps I will do in one of the quad/greens... hmm... Now I just have to wait for the third in the Tears of Artamon series, which I highly recommend to those that like Fantasy.
I shouldn't listen to Wicked because it makes me want to sing... hehe! Ok so Sarah has lots of really cute friends who are all gay or have a girlfriend... DAMN! hehehe! There was an incident with a hornet last night that was funny.
Sunday we saw a production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead aka MY FAVORITE PLAY!! It was really good! They shortened it becuase it was part of the black box series which is only one act but questions was in it (oh yeah Laura!) and part of "glean what afflicts him" The actors were really good. Rosencrantz/Guildenstern? (aka one of them) was played by a girl and she was hilarious!!! At the end, the pirates were two girls and they done it like really really stupid Valley girls and they kept giggling so everyone looked at her very oddly and the girl rosencrantz/guildenstern started running around screaming offstage, then came running back on and grabbed the other Rosencrantz/Guildenstern and they ran off screaming and slowly everyone ran off screaming and only Alfred was left and they look at him (he was hiding in a huddle)and they took their swords and pointed them at him and said "...like, arr." and he ran off screaming, it was so funny. (BTW, that is my new saying. FYI... ;D)
Random note: a bunch of you will know this, what is the exact title of the song Fiyero sang in the San Fransico version that was then replaced by "Dancing through Life" It's something about a party. "Start the party"? "Which ways the party"? Not sure, I'm trying to play it for Sarah...

Hello boys and girls!!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY IT IS!!!!
Highlight of my day was John not being here for a 5th consecutive week, the sub letting us out after 20 minutes and going outside and napping in the glorious sun for 20 minutes before Music for Theater started. It was amazing! Audubon St. when no obnoxious students are out there is really serene. With the cars passing a little ways off, the indistinct quiet conversations that float over to you on the breeze and GOD! That glorious cool breeze! It was magnificant! I should have just skipped elective since we had a sub becuase I did not want to move!
EDIT: I just took my dogs out for a 20 minute walk in which I (obnoxiously) whistled 14 verses of "June is busting out all over" (13 of which I made up myself)
EDIT TWO: Because
melyanna pictures so moved me

Look, we have GREEN grass and not snow!!

(6) I won't even let myself get started on what I think of the hateful judgments that go into labeling someone 'hussy' and 'slut' that come from patriarchal, misogynistic, sex-phobic, pre-20th century Judeo-Christian societal norms
*headdesk* Clearly this person has not been outside in 100 years. Even if she was talking about its roots (which I don't think she was due to the rest of what she said) the evolution of the word and where it stands in society today is completely true

I was le bitchy today. Not enough sleep, and I got clothes lined at 7:30 in the morning which was really embarrasing and actually kinda painful. Landed flat on my back. Not fun. And people laughed and then certain friends were really grating on my nerves so I spent time with other friends.
So apologies to one and all.
And remind me to stretch next time I try to be flexible.
